Afterwards, i disconnected the hard drive, left one memory stick inside the computer and I loadeded the optimized bios defaults. It still hangs at the setup is starting screen. It seems as though windows is having a hard time detecting my hardware. Is there a windows hardware diagnostic that I can run to be sure? I know this is an old post, but I just wanted to let somebody else know that might have the same problem. I had the same issue on a dell Optiplex I booted to flash drive bios and did an fdisk. Killed the OEM partition. No the install is running smoothly. Friday, April 5, PM. Proposed as answer by scwatson Saturday, May 3, AM. Friday, February 28, AM. Wednesday, March 5, AM. This floppy setting apparently was the key to my issue tonight as well.
Have you tried installing SP1? Also, you could roll-back the drivers individually to the Windows one's to find your culprit if it is indeed a driver issue. I think you are spot on with this, I think there are bad sectors. I think this may have been caused by the first issue I was asked to fix with this machine.
Office was causing W7 to bluescreen when opening any of the applications. I fixed this issue quickly just by doing a repair on the Office installation, but I think the damage to the disk had already been done. Unfortunately don't have another disk to try, but advised the user the best course of action would be to replace the disk..
I am also facing same issue when i trying to reinstall W7 ,setup is not able to proceed from starting ,it showing A info in windows boot manager The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible. Can i delete the all partition from hard disk without remove it? To continue this discussion, please ask a new question. Laplink Software, Inc.
